![]() I frequently compromise on my ideal MXAO settings because of blocky models. Using MXAO (and SSR/RBM) can really make that apparent, so you often need to tweak the settings to minimise it at certain times. Rather than a sphere being perfectly round it’s actually a many-sided shape. TS4 is a pretty low poly game, so models are relatively blocky. ![]() MXAO can make sims and items in the game look blocky themselves, maybe that’s what you mean? (A screenshot would help me understand!) The reason for that is because MXAO is a depth effect, which reads the mass and shape of the models/meshes in the game so it can apply itself to them. Try turning on debug mode while you do that because it’s easier to visualise. Sometimes you need to mess around with the top few settings (I can’t remember what they all are off the top of my head, radius and something else?) to get something that looks smoother. It could be down to the particular settings you’re using.įor example, the lower the quality the more ‘noisy’ it can be (which I guess could look a bit blocky).
